The Story Behind the Name:
Euneos
The Son of Jason and the Golden Fleece Euneos was the son of Jason, the legendary leader of the Argonauts, and Queen Hypsipyle of Lemnos. His lineage is rooted in the most famous maritime epic of Greek mythology, the Argonautic Expedition. Born during the Argo’s historic journey, Euneos was destined to be a man of the sea.
"The Master of Fine Ships"
In Ancient Greek, the name Euneos is a poetic compound of "Eu" (good/fine) and "Naus" (ship). Literally translated, it means "the one with the good ships" or "the skilled navigator." It is a name that for centuries has been synonymous with maritime excellence and the art of seafaring.
The Pioneer of Maritime Hospitality
During the Trojan War, Euneos became the King of Lemnos. Rather than a warrior, he chose the role of a master provider. According to Homer’s Iliad, Euneos commanded a fleet of exceptional vessels that supplied the Greek fleet with fine wine and essential provisions. He was, in essence, the world’s first "logistics expert" and provider of luxury services at sea.
